Customer Review

The second of four studio albums of 1979 in the British Aylesbury founded, prog - rock - band Marillion with the very charismatic singer DEREK WILLIAM DICK (Fish), which came in 1981 as a singer for this band and this up to his departure in 1988 at his incomparable voice and his unique voice decisively coined. After Marillion in 1983, with its grand debut - album "Script For A Jester's Tear" was able to achieve initial success, this trend finally sat on the second album "Fugazi" more intensively continuing to work with its third and perhaps most personal album "Misplaced Childhood" peaked at reach. The album "Fugazi" was recorded already with the new drummer IAN MOSLEY, the previous drummer Mick Pointer, alongside Steve Rothery one of the two founding members replaced. The seven songs on this album are, as might be expected, very intense and fallen by FISH's charismatic, distinctive vocals and the constant and very skillfully staged melody - and speed changes. In this song, guitars and keyboards form a great symbiosis, as they probably only of Marillion - Albums knows and even in the STEVE Hogarth - era was one of many hallmarks of this band. "Fugazi" is another, wonderful and very authentic Marillion - album and sounds even unique, varied and unused for more than thirty years. Especially the two songs "Jigsaw" and "She Chameleon" I think today really great. With compare to other great bands I hold back deliberately, because I felt always that Marillion had from the beginning its own character and had to fear comparison with other well-known bands to nothing in the world. One thing at least is clear: the music of Marillion continues to this day musical accents. At a time when bands like GENESIS or PINK FLOYD already had no longer their class of yesteryear, this British band the dusty Progressive Rock breathed a new life.
