Return to the old roots

I am also a listener of the first hour. After I was very disappointed with the last album, I was very excited to see what they will present in the new album. Now I had before already listened to the preview and thought to myself that some of the songs again strike the right direction, but some fit better on the predecessor.
After the first listening I found the CD a lot better than "From the Elves".

"Prologue" is for me just a nice match in the theme of the CD. Faun how you like it. ;)
"Walpurgisnacht" I actually find very nice, were it not for the men singing, which is simply too much reminds me of Santiano. But already the instrumental passage has become very beautiful and fauns appear justice in this song requests the first fans and newer fans will want to.
"Colourful people" may also be a beautiful song belongs to me but to the poorer songs of the CD. For to me belongs Micha In Extremo In Extremo easy and it does not fit for me to Faun. But I like him really, it does not fit just come.
"Minuet" is reminiscent of the "Book of Ballads", very beautiful voice and beautiful music.
"Hecate" is the most beautiful song of the album for me. I like songs that can put into a trance and have a pagan origin. It's just like the old faun. Hopefully a song that they will play at concerts later.
"Blue Hour" - a very nice song and even another male voice. Stephen's voice is simply very nice and fits well with Faun. Only bothers me about this song "Your red mouth will accompany me forever". The instruments used are beautiful and I like it very well the instrumental part of the song.
"Cuncti Simus" also this I find very beautiful. I must also say that I'm a fan of Sonja, they just sing fantastically. It is a pity that they have once again taken a Latin text. I'm missing but the unusual texts in Gaelic, Swedish or Finnish. But at least no German text.
"Can you hear the drums" I'm still somewhat ambivalent. It's definitely not bad. The drums are already very strong in the foreground, perhaps I should not have read that it is of Corvus Corax, because now I always see Corvus Corax in front of me. ;) Also, I do not like Oliver's voice here so much, because it sounds very rough.
"The Wild Hunt" reminds me a bit of "The Book of Ballads", but it is not nearly as deep green thing. For me it is one of the songs that I like the least, but I have to say that my husband with the best like this song because it tells a story. So different are the tastes. But you can say that the text very quickly impresses and you get a catchy tune.
"Woman Earth" I'm surprised. This is really a very beautiful song. I was never a fan of Katie's voice, but here it is just wonderful. It invites you to dream.
"Anthem of the Night" is easy to say a Faun Song as you like as a fan of the old hour. :)
"Farewell" is a beautiful song. At first listen I liked it not so good, but now it is for me the most beautiful of the CD. You should simply again more poems and traditional texts set to music. Which does not mean that I do not like their own texts, but this song is simply that they can the very beautiful.
Now for the bonus tracks:
"Wind and violin" which is actually my favorite song, but in this version I say "No". I think the old version just more beautiful and mystical. Here me is too much beat in the song. :( I prefer leg purely the old version.
"The songs will remain" the worst of the whole CD for me. It sounds to me just at the most after the "Out of the same".
"Era escuro" is also a very nice quiet song. Only the sing-song bothers me a little. :(

Conclusion: Many old Faun fans will find songs that will appeal to them. But just as there are songs that appeal to new fans. I, too, would have let me to auditions almost put off, but the CD has become really nice if they did not quite come up to the Eden, light, Book of Ballads and Renaissance, it has yet a lot of nice new songs. And you do not like, because they are reminiscent of "Out of the same", you can simply omit yes.
Even the instruments back to the fore again. This I missed a little at the VDE.

I also find the booklet very appealing. While it is not yet back quite as nice as at "Eden", but after the "Out of the same", this album is again a feast for the eyes.

Give Faun another chance. Also, I was afraid that her concerts are different by the last CD, but they have proven in Selb, 2013, that they are the old fauns and still want to keep it that way. For me it was the best concert in all these years and it shows that they want to change anything / want to.
