Great game with just a few weaknesses

After I had already played some really successful title with my Nintendo 3DS XL (including Luigi's Mansion 2, Mario Golf: World Tour), this game was now the turn: Super Mario 3D Land. I was expecting a classic Mario platformer in the style of Super Mario 3D World for the Wii U.

And I was not disappointed. Super Mario 3D Land is a decent Mario titles, albeit with one or another weakness.

About the story probably do not need many words to be lost: Peach is kidnapped, Mario must save her. Point. So it was and so it will probably always be.

During his adventure, the plumber this time many remarkable level of the same variety in front of him: In my opinion the most level are similar in style. While Super Mario 3D World for the Wii U a lot of different levels offered, which required different Fähigeiten, it is in Super Mario 3D Land often only the classic jumping and running what is required. Those who have already played some Mario platform games, will know what I mean. This similarity, however, I see absolutely not negative, because I've always liked this kind of level best.

Overall, one can say that Super Mario 3D Land is a nice platform game title of Mario series. Despite all the praise it enough for me not to a 5 star rating since it unfortunately also are some points of criticism:

Many reviewers praise the 3D effect. I do not know if it might be the wrong perception is my part or because it is a relatively early game console, but I find the 3D effect is not particularly good. Especially when compared to games like Luigi's Mansion 2 or The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds at this game me an depth is lacking. In addition, there is a little lack of sharpness, but what probably lies on my 3DS XL.

Similarly, I find it a pity that there is no Secet exits (or they are doomed secret, anyway, I have so far, 6 world, not one found). Such are for me simply to a Mario game and to this lack this element.

This Tanuki-Item can and I will not make friends. But I got used to in recent years there. If you want to use it, to do it, but it failed for me simply the sense of the game: It can not there be no joy at completing a level with this tool.

So I come to the conclusion that Super Mario 3D Land is a great title for the Nintendo 3DS. You get like one would expect from the Mario series, Jump & Run at the highest level. The 3D effect is in my opinion not as successful as in recent games, but the game does this not diminish. Who wants to play a nice Super Mario game on mobile console, is very well served with this title.
