STORY:
The story is great. What happens in detail is already up, so only my impression about the story. Playing with the ignorance ("who and where I am?") At the beginning, the insanity backdrop "Central Park", and especially its underground are artistically well done. The cut scenes that continue the story will fit seamlessly into the gameplay a (unfortunately you can not interrupt the thing like annoying when you restart). And the best part: you can not get stuck. This means you can not "forget", somewhere take something and then hangs elsewhere. This makes the game here and there, of course, something linear, but that's clear. For the game constantly provides something new! It is not 08/15 - that you have to stop a bit linearity to accept.
And yes, the game is creepy. But not always. It startled, sure, but you do not have a lump in my throat constantly as in other games. But time waits for room 943 ........
GRAPHICS:
The light, fire and shadow effects are great (especially on plasma TVs). Playing with the flashlight and the burning wooden objects with which one turns against his enemies is to look at more than nice. The slimy walls in the underground and the sewer glisten when irradiated. The city is dark and foggy that could have been done better. Just like the Kamerafürhung - as always strange even at "AITD". But convincing for some sequences with Hollywood-style. Sure, there are games that can better the YET - but the overall package "AITD" true - up to the controller.
CONTROL:
Poor. Since're I think all who play the game, agree. The movements are completely awkward, slow and cumbersome. Who, for example, the museum tries to burn all 8 or 9 zombies who will waaaaahnsinnig. If you have it at some point but managed one looks forward, when you finally progresses. But until then, it is very frustrating. The same applies to the driving sequences that are genuine Bock difficult. But sometime after 40 attempts but then you get lucky. And so it is with the whole game. It is annoying, but somehow klappts yet. The inventory is okay, but I really needed time until I found myself cope with it.
CONCLUSION:
The game takes a bit to get him away. In between incredibly unfair driving sequences take briefly the mood, but if you have the managed then it's back. Anyone who wants to solve a la "McGuyver" puzzles and combine things, who likes nice graphics and creeps like to, but also does not shy away from being on a clunky controls (not) to get used to the lies with "Alone In The Dark "correctly. There is finally a game from the genre of "Survival Horror" - and it shortened my time to the long-awaited RE5.
