First impression of the WiFi variant:
Usual Samsung packaging in the style of a wooden box. The Tablet makes already unpacked a good and sophisticated look. The new design with a retro look old notebooks like and provides a somewhat firmer back. Processing perfectly with my device. Everything fits, no cracks or wobbly controls. The accessory is mau and is limited to multi-piece charger and a few replacement tips for the S-Pen plus tool for installation. In the price range a 0815 headphones would not expect too much, even if I do not need him.
Weight and dimensions I find very pleasant. Although I have rather small hands, the device is to act well and also to use longer without stand. For a 10 inch tablet absolutely fine.
Even when setting the tablet gets an update from Samsung servers. The occasion also reported here stuttering I have not experienced so far. Maybe that is also due to said update.
Screen
Of course, the display is immediately apparent. It is very bright and impressed with bold colors. So far I have not had the opportunity to test in sunlight, the I push but after. Even with slight changes in the viewing angle, the picture remains top. Extreme oblique angle I have not yet tested here, I do not think is really relevant in practice. Some apps will immediately notice that some content at all can not keep up with the enormous resolution of 2560x1600 pixels. Especially with Facebook advised many images very grainy, which I so never fell at my alternative smartphone, the Touch 2 in the eye. Even magazines from Zinio kiosk are uncomfortable pixelated while showing normal .pdf files or ePubs no discernible weaknesses in some places. And also in the normal everyday Android fits everything and looks razor-sharp.
Speed
The 10.1 in 2014 can not be criticized in terms of speed. Super fast launch apps and games. Fifa 14 is here a real experience! The new S-Pen can convince immediately and especially the significantly faster notebook like this. In grade 2, it has here some pause for thought needed. The S-Pen with its exchangeable tips offers more resistance on the display than the last note generation. That comes in the first and second usage somewhat unfamiliar front, then goes quickly but in flesh and blood, and ultimately leads to better because more precise operation.
Battery life
Add to that a more detailed estimate. The hardcore use out of the box has been through about four hours of pre-charged battery. But that is unlikely to be the average.

The sound makes a good impression at the first pieces of music and film clips. Again, I'm going to listen a bit more intense. microSD is described easily recognized and read quickly or. The device memory is unfortunately limited to 16 GB and Samsung does not provide alternative models with a larger memory to. Here would have been in the premium segment to expect a little more. First shortcoming
The camera could be lagging somewhat behind the otherwise hitherto impeccable impression. First snapshots I found not very appealing because it was missing the pictures of sharpness and color depth. But here I am testing a little bit.

UPDATE 15.10.
The USB port on the PC does not provide enough charging current for the tablet. So do not wonder about the red cross on the charging icon on the display. Explorer Windows 8 keeps crashing when I try to create or rename folders via PC on your tablet. Other file operations run smoothly.
For the microSD slot Samsung has incorporated an (albeit) fragile cover. For headphone jack and miniUSB especially the would have been highly desirable. So it is to watch or retrofitted with protective plugs.
Smart Stay is very picky eater and really only works when the tablet is held in front frontal face. Even small deviations in perspective lead to the error message in the status bar. For this fit the SmartScreen function and so the Tablet scrolls reliably through slight head tilt via a website (if one uses as the default browser).
UPDATE 27.10.
The display is easy to read even in bright sunlight. So far the best I've seen from Samsung to. (Note 3 not tested, as a note). However, under the sunshine comes the reflective screen full effect .. The relativized something good brightness of the display.
Battery life drops to positive. Slight and occasional mixed use with Wi-Fi, Inet, Youtube, eBook, Apps and standby phases (!!) holds more than 24 hours. A Session Real Racer 3 can the tablet battery but also flatten in about three hours. A permanent use with music or movies I have not yet managed. Come. Given the high battery capacity, a charging process goes smoothly from the stage: in remaining capacity of 4-5% and power is off, the battery is good for three hours fully.
PS: even in hard Gaming (see above: Three Hours Real Racer), the tablet is not really warm. Bottom case feels as if nothing happens.
