When filling the portafilter with classic espresso coffee powder as Lavazza (best freshly ground), you get absolutely delicious and especially very hot coffee, which can keep the quality loose with the 8x so expensive Saeco.
Ingenious: When you're in a hurry, you can just plug a pod into the seventh Rager and it works the same way. We have tried it already with Aldi pads and Senseo pads. No problem, though the taste is of course not quite as good as the freshly ground coffee. The best are the slightly more expensive pads from ESE, which are specially designed for filter holder.
The milk frothing system works fine. The milk foam could be a little tighter, but that's already complain at a high level.
Overall, everything is very convenient constructed and especially with apparently clear simplerer technique than with Saeco or Jura. Simpel is no worse here, but on the contrary better. At least as good quality coffee that Beem i-Joy is significantly less susceptible than all coffee machines that I know so. Cleaning, maintenance and descaling are very simple and thanks to the lack of fully automatic programs to cope without computer skills ;-).
The principle: The more complicated the technology, the less can go wrong. And the beem is really designed very simple.
Of course at the cheapest Beem much plastic is processed, but if the quality is right, so what? Plastic smell or even taste changes over coffee we did not notice.
For the price (my Beem was Offer of the month on Amazon and therefore again 40 euros cheaper) a top device that we do not want to miss.
