I've tested both the Samsung dongle and the PTV3000 at three different AV receivers (Yamaha, Denon, Onkyo) at a total of four different smartphones (S3, S3LTE, S4, Galaxy Nexus). For all but the dongle only works to monitor / TV.
However, there is a clear specification of the HDMI standard - because it does not matter whether the receiver or TV - and according to the description meet Miracast dongles (including the PTV3000) this interface standard and also allegedly just with the S3 / S4 from Samsung.
Since the intentionally restricted to the TV operation is a deliberate breach of the HDMI standard, there is no single point. It is simply a lie, what stands in the article description, point.
So: Stay away from SAMSUNG !!!
Generally you should be careful with all the non-standards like Miracast, MHL, HDMI, etc! Samsung operates here MASSIVE CustomersLinked asses and lies like printed! On service inquiries you do not respond there partly, or are their so called customer service for the most part incompetent! (So that complaints are not processed by their own service providers and so on ...)
