Where Else ... (Audio CD)

Customer Review

Claudia bridges, particularly known for her vocal performance at the now legendary cult band Propaganda (Dr. Mabuse, ZTT label) has released a new solo album.
It is probably only her third solo album, because between releases, she worked often in projects (OneTwo etc) with other artists; here too producer John Williams had great influence on the resulting sounds.

This time is not the Electronik at the forefront of musical interpretation, but more pop, sometimes slightly dizzy, sometimes melancholic guitar pop. But do not worry: E guitar solos are not to be expected here.
I particularly like the beautiful cover version "Day Is Done" by Nick Drake, which I still find much nicer and better than the original itself - a performance! It should be so.
But the many self-composed songs are wonderfully succeeded. When audible influences of these sounds is called Claudia bridges Velvet Underground, Lou Reed, Depeche Mode, Roy Orbison, JJ Cale and Jimmy Webb.
In "Walk right in," I feel even remembers a Strawberry Hills Forever by The Beatles.

A thoroughly enjoyable album without fillers, worn by beautiful pop sounds and the stand-out alto voice of Claudia bridges.
