Interesting extension with some high difficulty

In this expansion for the board game Arkham Horror is the fourth "little" extension, which means that in this not a new game board (as in Dunwich, Kingsport, or Innsmouth) is added. For the investigators expect many new objects, encounters, magic, myth maps and other what one already knows from other small enhancements, but is also very well done. However, this extension adds three new features added:

1 .: There is a new herald, who takes much more influence on the game than the previous. While these usually complicate the game by adding some special rules for the investigators, you have here the opportunity einzugegen with the dark essence pacts, for example, increase the life energy or gestige health. However, it happens that one it also has to pay a high price because you have to then draw cards at regular intervals, which can have positive as well as negative effects. So a game with fire, the pay off, but as well can not go back. This makes the special charm of this herald and is very well implemented into the game.

2 .: The extension comes with a complete set of new gates, the (also from previous enlargements) to replace all the old gates. These gates have always been a special ability, for example, that an investigator loses sanity, if he fails thereby to close a gate or the gate moves on the board. Here, however, the problem lies in this module because the additional difficulty through the new gates a little too much in my opinion fails. This goes so far that there is a gate, which devours the investigator, if it opens at its site. That's a bit too arbitrary and that's why we play mostly without the new gates.

3 .: investigators can now drag when the game starts so-called relationship cards valid for two investigators and declared these to business partners, friends or rivals. This can usually have technical effects such that both can help property test each other or if one of the two gets a spell the other also gets. Overall nice but with little playful effects.

General notice about this expansion that the Schierigkeitsgrad attracts places strong. This is noticeable in the new Begenungskarten where a face, for example, the investigators with a relatively simple sample in its failure it is however swallowed. Nevertheless, it is worth buying this extension, since it is rather inexpensive and bring all the new cards even more variety to the game. However, falls as I said the patchy high difficulty (which is also, as mentioned very randomly) when using all new modules slightly negative on. Yet a worthy extension to this terrific board game!
