an album of contrasts

After the success of "August And Everything After" the expectations for the second album were quite high. And these expectations were met for the most part.
Where on the first album still Mitsch Unkel numbers like "Mr. Jones" and "Rain King" were to be found, Adam Duritz & Co. rocked going on properly. One example is called from the album "Angels of the Silences" the first single.
In addition to the rock numbers, there are also beautiful ballads, like the great "Miller's Angels", the charming "Another Horse Dreamer's Blues" or the contemplative "A Long December".
"Recovering The Satellites" is because of the slightly harder title perhaps kantigste and in my opinion the most charming album of Counting Crows. A claim to the following two albums "This Desert Life" and "Hard Candy" no longer meet.
