I had a few weeks ago bought two 1200 adapters Devolo (review qv) and was disappointed about the data transmission results compared to my 200 adapters. After I had given the very expensive 1200s adapter back, I now attempts this 650ern. On the critical distance from the router on the ground floor to the PC in the 200 DG came to 71 Mb / s, the 1200s to 96 Mb / s and the 650 now at 60 Mb / s (all measurements with the very optimistic Devolo Cockpit software) , What am I supposed to think? Instead of progress through technology a step backwards compared to the 200-adapters. I do not get it. Actually, the newer technology should speed up data transfer. The big problem seems to be the circuit with the PC in the attic to be, although I have a phase coupler in the fuse box. To other rooms in the attic I get better data transfer rates than the computer room, even though I have all possible interferers connected to the socket of the adapter there by safety edge. The data rate of 650 adapters also vary ever shut up to 35 Mb / s. This vacillation did not have the 200-adapter also. Basically, the powerline technology is quite useful, but on all routes the newer adapters are not always better than the old generations. What struck me even more negative in the 650s adapters: The Devolo Android app works only with the 500 rotary or 1200 adapters. If one of them does not, find the app a single adapter. Note this is only found in the app. Why ever worked in the 500s and the 650ern no longer seems a mystery of the art. I'll probably keep the 650s adapter as a supplement, especially as the adapter switch is quite an asset. It saves on the PC / printer location a separate switch. But the disillusionment with the data transfer rate on the critical path remains.
