So I walked on the tracks websites and I used my ear to the previous albums.
So, I started blindly on "I want happiness" 'without having listened beforehand, deciding to trust the artist.
I was a little disappointed that Louisiana is more a friendly wink in this album rather than bias. I wish I could find the colors of the region more intensely. The evocation of the bayou, the marching bands, the "Kingfolk Jazz and Brass Band", brass, zydeco, Cajun music, me, it turned me completely.
After this first disappointment, I let myself be seduced by the melodies and especially the texts that tell the misadventures of a region that has suffered much.
The themes of the album are varied and sometimes difficult as "Protect" (which refers to Hurricane Katrina), "Charlie (story of a child who died of a serious illness) or" The Doll " (speaking of the homeless).
The general mood remains upbeat and dancing.
Beyond the flagship title that pushed me to buy, I found sounds and themes that some describe sensitive and candid but speaking to the human and child who remain in Inside, sometimes hidden behind the cynicism and coldness.
Traits of which are miles away from the singer's universe.
So, even if the texts do not shine by their depth, the artist dynamism is infectious.
