That which is given to the best Wolf Love, does not sound bad. On the contrary: Of course you have to be a long-established Omnia fan hereto getting used to, but it has Wolf Love consulted several times, it is found, that sounds much more varied that musical spectrum. Some songs go in a gloomy direction (Wolfsong, Taranis Jupiter), while Love in the forrest z. B. is a real feel-good song or Saltatio Vita a traditional Pagan-Folk-Song in the style of Satyrsex is offered. The only song that I can not make friends is dance until we die, where Sid tries to be pretty lousy rapper. This song could have really save. Otherwise Wolf Love is a relatively calm and peaceful work. Slow songs like Teachers (a Leonard Cohen cover version), Sister Sunshine, Moon, Wheel of Time or Cornwall also shape the overall image of the album.
Musically, I had the feeling that the band here, since Alive, has increased noticeably. Sid's voice sounding round and mature and Elfe Jenny also knows how the attentive listener, enchanted with her gentle voice. In Wolfsong z. B. the New Zealand giant Luca support with his dark voice the gloomy and threatening atmosphere of the song.
As for the visual design of the CD or the booklet, one of Omnia usual high quality is offered. The elaborately designed digipack features a high-gloss gold embossing on the cover and 32-page booklet in digipack incorporated is, besides the lyrics, with many illustrations and beautifully photographed images.
I like Wolf Love really good. After 4 Pagan Folk Albums the new silver disk is sometimes an interesting change. I admit, I had also only at the piano and sometimes a bit moody sound used. But within 3 - 4 rounds in my CD player I have taken a liking to Omnias newest prank. Anyone embarking on this CD and can get used to the fact that Wolf's love no longer sounds quite so traditional that can access here. Wolf Love offers, apart from dance until we die, 60 Minutes partly magical, but serene and somber tones.
