FIFA shoots an own goal

The last sentence of my review to FIFA 07 I take that back. Significant and positive changes are unfortunately seen as well as not the successor. To illustrate this point in more detail, I'll go a little more closely to the individual weaknesses of the game.

Criticism 1: The referee
The referee, once again, as always. He is always partisan. Leaving aside the same yellow or even a red card at the slightest opponent, the opponent can make emergency brakes, enter from the rear or even injure a player - in eight out of ten cases, it comes with something other than the logical and legitimate red card thereof. In addition, the referee can be seen only in the cutscenes, in FIFA 08 there is the option to set the referee, not again.

Criticism 2: The opponents
While their team has to make an effort, the opponent can place his hands in his lap. He gets the ball at the end always. When conducting a fair opponent with its own players, the ball bounces off either at its source - the result is a kick to the opponent - or so from its own players from that it ends up in front of the enemy so that it does not have to run a step to get the ball. Another shortcoming is that the opponents of ten chances pure cover at least eight of them. It does not matter how strong the opposing team or the opposing player is or on what difficulty you play. Really quite remarkable that one's central defense dissolves into thin air when enemy attacks in the truest sense of the word, and the enemy still makes even place. This then has only the goalkeeper in front of him and can push. And so I would be the third point.

Gripe 3: The differences between the goalkeepers
As in FIFA 07 the own goalkeeper is again easy to overcome and to load, while the opposing keeper again makes the best parades and is almost overcome only by Lupfer - and only when the opposing goalkeeper has the goodness of the gateway to run. In addition, he holds the ball with his hand always just so that he does not go into the goal. The own keeper makes against it once again the worst blunders and often drops the ball from his hand still slide into the goal.

Gripe 4: Fouls
Not only does the referee - as already mentioned - is once again biased, no, sometimes you can get the enemy to expose only a wimp, it's coming down from the simplest touches and for every little Touchierung want to have a free-kick. As with FIFA 07, the term "challenge" gets a whole new meaning, in fact, the no referee would whistle. In addition, the advantage is also such a thing. The advantage is indicated by a sign on the screen. When opponents he will take up to five seconds while you get awarded himself only two or three seconds.

Gripe 5: Control
The option "switch players" got now assigned a separate button with L1. Now it is a bit more complicated to control a player or activate, since you have to pay attention to several things at once, which is initially very difficult. This small change would, however, still to cope well if at least the rest would vote.

The second star I forgive just because the stadium atmosphere has been significantly improved, there are many new stadiums and some players faces were recreated or improved. More positive aspects I can not name unfortunately. This game is a challenge and an own goal at the same time.
