Your solo album "Why do you love me?" is consistently very good to listen. The booklet is equipped with diverse and beautiful pictures from Steffi List and the lyrics that drew Steffi List starring Julia D.. Music by Steffi List ("Break the silence" except) - that clarifies many a reproach which may arise in connection with "talent shows". Steffi List playing guitar and singing, in some places additionally 2nd voice in the background.
The slightly rocking numbers "Break the silence" and "Inside Out" are known to many, and go into the ear. In the other pieces to pop and rock mix in beautiful balance. The band is always present. Especially the guitar solos in the songs emerge. "Please stop" impresses with rock & roll rhythms and melodies - for dancing on. "Will she" is all in all to fluent me to straight. Also superimposed in the chorus too many voices for my taste.
"For you" is a beautiful pop love song with slight band accents, but even more convinced by the textually. "Why do you love me?" was not without reason that the album title - especially the Bridge stands out - here we meet again Steffi List a little rockier. "Who of you" is almost uninstrumentiert, a little percussion. "An unusual love" sounds like a prayer from ... "no more separation, no justification" ...

The lyrics are mainly about the subject of love - love and love can be exiting and leaving - some to self-doubt and loneliness, but also happy moments. Steffi List it tries to convey the everyday in their music. The listener gets the feeling that they need to match the life (her?) - Realistically and honestly, without throwing like used swearwords around. The texts are easy to understand, could be metaphorical for my taste in some places, to tell more stories.
By Melissa Etheridge, whose "Like the way I do" Steffi List performing in the talent show, it is in my opinion still a long, long way ... both in vocal expression and lyrics are concerned ... and it can anyway only give ME, but for the first solo album by a German singer, it is impressive, no doubt.
And who is willing to contend Steffi Lists songs, the sense that their music comes from the heart!
