Great TV but SMART HUB below any

TV side, superb, excellent picture quality and really good design.
Even though its usually bad enough on flat screens TV is good enough (but does not exempt a sound bar or better a home theater amplifier).

Where it becomes disappointing is on the functions called "advanced" grouped in "SMART HUB", which are below any.

First the media player, which it is working properly by DLNA, is totally disappointing at the CODEC, and a really botched ergonomics. For example, the fast forward / reverse function does not work on almost all videos. You can not directly read records from a DVR nor of POUCHIN TV recorder or other recording without re-encoding ... Nothing like VLC or WMP on a computer or even a simple VCR or digital type AKIRA HYUNDAY who reads everything and works ten times better.

PIP does not work outside the TV and external inputs or the WEB. You can not, for example, play and keep your PIP football match ...

You can not change the picture settings and outside the TV and the media player. Donations if you listen something on you tube, no possibility to act on the image or the sound (except the volume of course)

Finally the worst is the WEB browser (called WebBrowser) painfully slow (3 or 4 times slower than on your PC) and especially not totally ergonomic, who plants every half hour and that proves such unable to function properly with deezer.

Add the choice (obviously derived from HADOPI) to add a DRM on digital recording prohibiting any use you off the TV ...

In short ... shame and hope SAMSUNG will quickly improve the product ...

In the immediate future and in my opinion, it is better and is a lot less expensive to buy a low-end TV and network DVR or multi media gateway ... that for less than 150'll offer another comfort multi media.

Hence my overall rating of 3, which goes through without hesitation against 5 on the only TV appearance
