As already mentioned, the stability at 70-300 significantly more stringent, the "nailed" the image formally. At 24-70, he is indeed also very good, but visually "liquid" with corrective movements. I have taken the fun to increase the exposure time times sequentially and can state with a steady hand and a soulful trigger finger I could even snap to 1/4 more "hands-free". The motive was still hot!
And the images are even at f 2.8 more than just ok. Can because otherwise comments do not follow.
My objective has factory no visible fehlfokus. Autofocus has initially given one or the other "noise" of itself, but after a few pictures this has "smeared". Focusing is quick and fairly accurate, except when the lighting situation is bad, but that's really not uncommon. In such cases, a plugged Canon flash has proven. Flash firing suppress but to use the AF assist lamp!
The zoom ring is difficult to move than other lenses. There is but I slipped and in any position. Since other lenses are much faster when used upside down in a maximum position. Nevertheless, a lock is to fix switch attached to the thing at 24mm.
So long story short: Buy!
One can really go wrong with the lens.
