The bad karma Microsoft is of course included with Games for Windows LIVE: The 16GB installation starts with the installation of add-on tools "Windows LIVE" and "Rockstar Games Social Club". Apparently the outsourcing method has been introduced in computer games: Windows Live requires you to save games. Again:
Without Windows Live you can save GTA 4 _not_.
The "Rockstar Games Social Club" you must log on to utilize the multiplayer mode. Ie 2x additional programs to install, 2x entrust any foreign service data and e-mail address and solve captchas. In addition, still need, or will Sony DAC SecuROM, Adobe Flash (!), Direct X, MS .NET Framework and IE installed.

Before playing you have to as I said first register with these services and has worked with Rockstar Games Social Club is another icon on the desktop.
The first disillusionment for me came with the image and that is my main criticism. Subjectively can be with my system (iMac 2x2.8GHz, HD 2600 PRO / XT 256MB, 4GB RAM, WinXP) 4 not play GTA bearable. The resolution I had to turn down 876 to program setting of 1920x1200 on my 1152 &. Because nowhere AA can be adjusted, the jaggies in the resolution are correspondingly stronger. The benchmark goes with average 17 FPS on the stage. I arge graphic misrepresentations, so flickering, comic drawn rectangles on surfaces, etc.
I've just played a while Fallout 3, the comparable graphics demands to the system: Large open spaces with stuff on it, moving objects. Unlike GTA 4 it runs smoothly at my 98% and the graphics are better - also atmospheric. I was now back immediately reminded of GTA 3 GTA 4, slightly blurred cartoon-like drawings.
The presentation of non-native resolution occurs in the GTA menu font to unsightly artefacts disfigure the buttons and labels almost to the unrecognizable, especially in multiplayer mode that's annoying.
In many places you can hear in the forums so disappointed reactions, we had hoped for more, especially in terms of a graphic improvement over the console. That has not occurred, apparently the PC graphics is worse at a comparable to the console system.
The gameplay is fine, the story better told than its predecessors, which is a plus point. The interaction with the world interesting.
As Conclusion remains a bitter aftertaste because of the graphics. I am considering to bring back the game. Just take a look.
