Unpacking:
The baby monitor is very attractively packaged, the manual are also the same on the inside. The design of the equipment is modern and fits the style well with iPhone, pad or I-Pod.
Set Up:
In a few steps everything should work, only the key for the wireless network you should have on hand. The first time, everything worked, the device wanted a firmware update to make in order to be up to date, then just problems with the hard compound. As hard as that of iPod hanged himself - oh, no, that is indeed different from Apple - has become unresponsive. In principle, there is, however, no difference; without turning off it went no further. And this happens almost every time without exception when attempting to contact. A strange kind of reliability, I think.
Conclusion:
Unfortunately from me at this point only one star for an overpriced, not working device or a useless app.
Criticism:
The marketing department at Belkin seems to be a very large proportion of dinks, or the people there have a very sarcastic sense of humor.
Otherwise I can Promotinal the advantages of the device - so it works at all - namely not explain. Quote:
"Unlike traditional baby monitors the reach of wemo baby is not limited. Since the device works with mobile data networks, you have everywhere a connection where you have data services for your mobile device or a wireless connection. Whether you go out at night or on business are: You can check with your tablet or smartphone, how is your baby. "
Business? Where, please? After Tajikistan? When I am on a business trip only in the next town, it is useful to me very little, if my smartphone informed me that my baby cries, how long it will take because until I am at home to look after things? The return flight from Tajikistan takes namely in doubt too long. But you can indeed my chargeable premium services an SMS or mail it sent - as if one would be faster at home.
Perhaps you can see that today so little looser than at the time when my two little ones were in infancy, but such statements go me to significantly towards neglect protection Commanded. Did you know that even the attempt is punishable?
But if we are to believe the media, it is indeed sometimes happens that parents sometimes go up "short" in the pub and leave the little ones at home alone; the Belkin wemo baby monitor would be an almost ideal alibi.
That the live stream of the sound recording via a server at Belkin runs, before coming back to the smartphone, is also not a secure method. Not necessarily only in the privacy sense, but considering the fact that this device simply does not work when there arise problems. And of Tajikistan from one can, unfortunately, not even just as quietly open and see if it goes the young well the door.
If this device just use the home wireless without the involvement of Belkin servers, and then also work correctly, it would be a great thing, and there would be no need to apply nonsensical features.
UPDATE --- UPDATE --- UPDATE --- UPDATE

I believe so fundamentally in the goodness of people. And also in the goodness of device. So I have the latest version of wemo Baby app launched another attempt, and virtually given the thing a second chance.
It is positive to note that it is now running after the crash fixes Belkin at least without crashes on my iPod 4G.
However, there are often disconnects, and it did not work in my opinion.
Let me just test a wireless camera from DLink; with the baby could not only hear, but also see per night vision at all times, and the transfer is somewhat more stable than the wemo.
Therefore No further stars from me.
