In as ambitious as eccentric - and also incredibly successful - project "6 album in 6 Months", the "DC EP", even if it was not published between these two plates, the musical link between "The Will to Death" and "Curtains ". The sound of their way to the equally relaxed as dynamic expressiveness of a 3-man line-up (John of cleaner electric guitar and singing, to drums and bass, ready), similar to that of most of the tracks on the Highlight album "Will to Death", while the more midtempo be resettled, therefore relaxed wandering songs have been in the direction of quieter acoustic disc "Curtains". Here tend to quite sweeping "Dissolve" and "A Corner" - the latter surprised with an interesting combination of the well-known "Will to Death" sound plus previously not heard before, broken chords, the number of a slightly sinister and thus totally interesting touch give - rather in the mid-tempo rock direction, while "Goals" and "Repeating" but come along very worn. Along a very consistent picture, not only musically, but also lyrically follows: John seals and sings thoughtful and intelligent, lines like "Nothing is seen really / All's in the mind / See me / I am a lie / Really" evidence of a confrontation with the achievements of constructivist science branches - of course - do not go beyond an interested reception and adaptation, but still demonstrate how to testify so much more with realtiv modest means, much more can contribute to world development interest in rock music, as it usually happens that John once again have to thank for it. The "DC EP" is like a short meditation unit: good also in the busy daily life integrated, caught up enough to let a sit up, but was nevertheless compatible relaxed and using previous knowledge that one does not only have to take great time to meet up with her deal. Whether the whole then in regular sales have to cost as much as otherwise a complete album, is another question. Probably it is due to a rather limited supply, but that's biscuits. You do not glorify everything John Frusciante produced (was), but as long as you like refrain from price, this EP is really a beautiful thing.
