La Roux Reloaded: Vinyl in Test

Admittedly, one encounters nowadays once skepticism when "extraordinary" and "Synth-Pop" hears the terms in combination. The charts-Allerlei is inundated by synthetic sound, so it is quite difficult to recognize in more specifics. When the music is played, however, as MVT as the Berliner Blitz Kids, then this can even be really heard. Just as the British duo La Roux they combine those melodic synth-pop, to the Eighties has influenced, and choose for her appearance a rather androgynous-futuristic look. Neomodische Stampfer beats remain on the sidelines. This accessibility is simply addictive! My first face-off tip is the strong electronic aligned Eingangslied WATER, which makes the band Goldfrapp all honor and loosely-light pun contains ("order a water" it is for example in the chorus). But the single BLINDED playing with languages, strictly speaking, the English and German: "I'm in love with a robot, I'm in love with a robot". Suitable for full-synthetic, right?
By the way: The staccato synth in Electrify comes from Freeez 'IOU from 1983 and MY DELIRIUM is a successful cover version of Lady Hawkes eponymous song (2008).

The design of the plate is a major triumph. The cover can be opened, revealing matching the album title, the silhouettes of the four band members in the upper section. Further down the production information were written.
Separate mention deserves the label, which was pressed on both sides of the record. If the LP rotates on the turntable, the results from the circular motif applied, repeating the singer a star, so to speak, a sort of optical illusion.
However, the icing on the cake is the download code that was included with the set. This fact appears as a welcome surprise, emblazoned on the cover is no evidence on the simultaneous acquisition of the entire album in digital format. At the beginning, however, you could not activate the code, because there was no link. I have directed me MVT through a social network on the official site of Blitzkids and was even answered! Today I was able to download the work. Although the music in quite compressed 192-Kbit / sec quality is present (320 is the actual standard to achieve high dynamics), but you can enjoy it SILHOUETTES vinyl with decent sound and entirely without clipping.

Danceable synth-pop with character and British flair from Germany? It does not work? But yet, and how! SILHOUETTES is MVT of Blitzkids about that album that I liked as a sophomore from La Roux, which is just as strong. It's a shame that the band has lost the qualifying round for the Euro Vision Song Contest ... The good vinyl edition with rich sound and a download coupon, which was added to the well-designed casing, this defeat does not detract, however, - twelve Points, uh, five stars!
