The first "new" CD I try Drama and was frankly quite shocked. There was pretty much nothing in it for me. Meanwhile, I have heard by all CDs more than once. The yield, however, remains quite low for me. Overall, I'm (next 90 .. and big ..) to approximately 4 CDs that I can more or less hear all. On the other CDs is sometimes still a little highlight hidden and often my bonus material has better liked than the main content.
Although the result for me is not really high, so it's quite interesting to watch the evolution of the band. The first CD the music is completely different from the rest, namely cover-heavy, super produced and one of my highlights. Here you realize that grandiose musicians are having fun in the matter. But what was amazing to me. Catchy melodies are found (apart from a few exceptional plates) before 90125 hardly. I had honestly expected that the majority is likely to be similar to the ABWH plate missing (because of similar cover), but far. However, I was not aware that there were many line-up changes in the history of Yes. For comparison: In Genesis I made it in the 80s, I successfully by Invisible Touch prefabricate up to the first plate. And quite honestly because there were hardly any failures. Some CDs I find better than others but actually I find all very well, in spite of and because of the musical development. In Yes I did not succeed.
Away from the music:
A few cardboard slipcase are quite large advised that the CDs can quickly fall out. That you can certainly resolve through their own cases. In addition, I wanted to pull my favorite songs on the MP3 player. Amazon advertises Auto Rip (but was not my purchase criterion). For this purpose, you should know that you get the MP3 version of "The Studio Albums", which would be obtained during normal MP3 purchase but. As you get to see, however, that it is the MP3s normal CD version, ie. Without bonus material clicks in Amazon MP3 times on the purchase button
Conclusion: Based on the 90125+ experience I expected more melodic music. In future, I will listen to me probably only a fraction of this period. But for the low price you get a good and great insight into the work of the band.
