This history of struggle between wizards, one has erased all memory the name of a country in revenge for the death of his son, and the struggle of some people to revive this name is again beautifully told with characters beautiful and terribly human.
In fact I would put a little below Al Rassan on my scale of values because if Tigane to a fantastic story with wizards with impressive credentials, the story itself is more conventional and less suspense well maintained. But this is only a very slight downside and it's still in my opinion a book to read for all fans of the genre.
