Two years after Cryptic Writings Risk fate in 1999, Megadeth has found an effective new drummer Jimmy DeGrasso which ensures the place of Nick Menza forced to leave the band due to illness and then Marty Friedman who will give up training after this album disagreement with the new musical direction the band would take. Anyway, this sequel worth its weight powerful titles, harmonic, rhythmic relentless worked on, it aligns sacred pieces. It remains in the previous three albums lineage, looking unstoppable melodies for choruses is found in all the compositions. Maybe bolder in construction, the group tries alternating phases calm and energetic cavalcades, it is not far from a progressive concrete hard "Insomnia" "Wanderlust". Strange intros announcing intense developments "Prince Of Darkness", leaded and catchy walks "Breadline" "Ecstasy" or frankly languid "Time: The Beginning" and one or two bursts well soaked "Seven" "Time: The End." Incisive guitar solos, the perfect song of Dave Mustaine author of all the songs, a powerful and precise rhythm make this album an undeniable success that I appreciate. (Original album: 12 tracks / 51mn38).
