Much better than expected and top sharpness DX and FX! +++++

The lens I have at Amazon Warehouse Deals like new bought for Schaeppchenpreis and it makes itself extremely well to date. The build quality is top notch and the focus and the AF really agree on the point of my cameras (D800 and D7000). The zoom ring has come a long way and rotates relatively fixed, but is okay after habituation. Autofocus at first made the impression as if it were slow. But now I am thrilled with the accuracy and speed in good light with sports and movement shots. It is important to use the AF-limiter. Then the AF movements are low and the AF thereby correspondingly faster and quieter, no longer disturbing. The "AF-limit" works both at close range and at long range, so either of about 2-4m, or approximately 5-infinity. For a price of less than half of the Successor with AF-S (MSRP € 2,700!) And probably similar optical performance. With the optical power and the color / contrast I am very satisfied with this lens with "Gold Ring". I would buy again at any time.
