From the first pages I'm in love Bartimaeus: it is original and offbeat, amusing even the devil does not take himself seriously.
Thereafter it is lenient: If it's not great literature but rather very good anyway and the frame if not phoned it, one is surprised by the inventiveness of the author.
The hero is not spared, the real is the only one who speaks in the first person writing style of rhythmic, short: a very good book for entertainment.
