Goosebumps ... This man and his guitar are a quake in the musical landscape. Certainly his first appearance at the Royal Albert Hall was for him something very special and one might even say his game and the feeling that it triggers in the listener ... But here intervenes really big in the strings. He interprets the blues modern and contemporary with clean accentuated sound. He does not need a playful "nonsense" but simply its sound to conjure up an atmosphere in the venerable hall, is second to none. The fact that two complete drum kits are Blazed throughout the concert, the music is very punchy forward and also the slow numbers have an exceptional Drive, which is certainly called to a large extent by double drums, some other guitarist would previously might fight for his starring role must not Bonamassa. He plays in this "high-floor rhythm carpet" with an ease and security that the listener simply fascinated to stupor, even he is alone with an acoustic guitar playing the duel with the double drums. The accompanying musicians are also of a brilliant quality, Bonamassa will change several times the guitars, stating the audience hardly applaud a longer chance, he just wants to play. One notices the concert from the first until the last note that he enjoys it to the fullest, to fulfill his childhood dream to play on guitar at the Royal Albert Hall and delivers here an appearance from showing the full range of his extraordinary skill. The guest appearance by Eric Clapton degenerates into a pure window dressing, but only because the presence and dominance of Bonamassa guitar over clearly shows his power and virtuosity, who is the past and the present who, if not the future. I warmly recommend additionally the DVD of this work, here the very special mood and atmosphere that carries this gig is even more clearly than in the purely audio version.
Out tip for people who like ballads: "Mountain Time". A song consists of three parts, a wonderfully long worn intro in which Bonamassa his guitar elicits sounds that seem to come from a Nepalese Sithar, then it goes almost imperceptibly into ballad Blue sounds that accompany the singing part of the piece and then in to lead a brilliant but featherlight and played in muted pace guitar solo in which Bonamassa able to show as a guitarist his entire skill than if pure liquid gold from its strings would gutters, to kneel down nicely.
Really highly recommended, by far the best that I've heard for a long time and I have a lot of old blues rock legends thanks to my age still able to experience live on stage - outstanding.
