More disappointed I was at the beginning, however, from the included scanning software SilverFast. I had about 10 years ago an expensive Epson flatbed scanner which also came with this software, and I was impressed by the functionality. Apparently SilverFast but was now taken over by another company, and verschlimmbessert of this. A nearly 200-page thick manual is divided into a number of languages of which only 15 pages are in German. The majority refers to the system requirements, hardware, etc., and only one! Page on the actual scan. Also, the PDF file on the enclosed CD is much more extensive. SilverFast configure for my needs a call to the German hotline was inevitable. After a very long conversation with a patient hotline staff of my questions were, however, all be answered. Now I'm very happy with the product resurrected. However, the really very extensive and powerful software seems to have been half-hearted program which intuitive operation and therefore prevents great need of improvement seems Dear Mr. Karl-Heinz Zahorsky!
