Plustek OpticFilm scanners: my preferred mode of operation is 2400 dpi, without HDR, as Tiff file. With SilverFast 8 you can achieve a good color correction in advance already, so it is necessary to correct any color cast later in Photoshop. But the software is running on my Windows 7 (64bit) 8GB of RAM very slow and unstable. Image colors in SilverFast see later in Photoshop quite different - that's more color rates. On my old Macbook 2009er with Mavericks and 4GB of RAM running SilverFast well. I can in one hour to 20 images incl. Preview and scan color correction, in manual mode. Excellent hardware side of the infrared scan, the emulsion damage and scratches is effectively corrected. I highly recommend this device only in connection with an Apple Mac.
