The concept of plate is not bad per se. Only a concept in music must be laid so that it comes across. And that does not happen here easily. Hardly a song somehow remains hanging in the ear. And when the disk is at the end, also nothing sticks. Especially not the urge to press the repeat button. Of all the solo works of the four Floyds this album is the second worst. The most horrible is "Radio KAOS". Significantly, also of Roger Waters. The man is simply not a musician. He's a brilliant writer and certainly a visionary. But he still needs whom, standing him in the musical realization aside. In the 70s there were his three companions. In the 90s he Madonna producer Pat Leonard has helped to turn amused to death a real masterpiece. Depend on Waters seems to be afraid of his work also. The last two tours indulged mainly Darkside Ot The Moon and The Wall. The first impression of being rather poorly executed, the second impressive mainly because of video effects. Gilmour has to go no problems, a lot of paying audience vorzusetzen his latest work with the undeniable lengths after a few to present "lovely old songs" and thus has the fans on his side. Waters seems to know that his solo stuff actually interested in anyone. Just bad. And how bad that can you can hear in this album. Without his congenial fellow he is unable to produce good records. From amused to death aside.
Two stars there for good sound effects and the quality of the sound. More is not there, even if I personally cherish an almost religious reverence for the Floyds.
