So we bought each a "Hobbyzone Champ". The change we noticed comparatively easy at first, the previous experience was certainly an advantage. While the planes are crashed us especially at the beginning more often, but because of their enormous light construction goes crashes on long grass little or nothing broken. If damage occurs, you can easily fix it yourself with customary in aeromodelling industry adhesives. Spares we had still no get. Even an almost completely broken wing could be permanently glued again.
The model is delivered in "ready-to-fly" version (RTF). This means: Insert and turn the remote control batteries. Only then the battery by air connect ... and away you go.
Ground start (or similar only on asphalt) are quite possible with some practice. Due to the type (two wheels at the front, a tail wheel) could this however absolute beginners difficult, since this model is little "driving stable" and shows like break times laterally. Because maybe recommends first hand Start.
But if it is only once in the air, it shows its excellent, good-natured flight characteristics. It flies exactly where you also want it hardly visible. An elegant slow flight is quite possible (gas about 30%, while pulling the elevator down a bit). If you like it like polynuclear, are properly gas, so that even loops are possible. Wonderful Landings are getting better with time. To avoid stalling related crashes, of course, also applies here, not to end up with too much tailwind. Connoisseurs know: always start against the wind and land. Very important: Only fly in no wind or very light wind! Otherwise, the champ gets slightly out of control.
Not should also be mentioned that sometimes solves the battery from the velcro strip, but in my opinion not a problem because the connector to the cable is very stable, and he herunterbaumelt something and can not get lost.
The supplied battery is thanks to the gliding properties, a flight time of up to 30 (!) Minutes away. We have concerned ourselves two additional batteries and thus long flight fun. The charger takes approximately 30 minutes for the charging cycle. To save us in the long term the cost of battery charger, we have to get the power supply optional. Too bad it has not already been included, but for 80 to 90 EUR you really get a lot of quality for the money.
Here again the advantages and disadvantages at a glance:
+ Great flight image
+ Good-natured flight characteristics (low-and, quick flight)
+ Little break-prone lightweight
+ Easy and inexpensive to repair, delivery of spare parts possible
+ Excellent battery performance
+ Good value for money
- Reliably controllable only with no wind or light wind
- Ground take their design, especially the beginning a bit difficult, impossible on grass
- Battery dissolves occasionally (but not lost)
Not included AC adapter for battery charger included -
Oh, Mode 2, "gas left, elevator and rudder right," Mode 1 "gas right". It should be noted when ordering if you do not want to get mixed up with the control when switching to a different remote control.
So we took the Hobbyzone Champ very happy even after many hours of flight time and recommend it without hesitation. We have further developed our skills thanks to him and look forward to the next challenge!
