Hello everybody,
One thing, the tablet bought at Media Markt and not in Amazon (due to availability).
I use professionally exclusively Mac and wanted to buy a new laptop for the private sector. Since my Apple Macbook Air is too expensive and I'm not averse to Windows entirely my choice fell on the ASUS T100T.
At the time of purchase there was yet no reviews.
Now for ASUS T100T:
Scope of supply:
The package includes everything you need to start. 1x USB to micro USB cable, power cord, quick reference guides and the Office H & S license.
Processing:
Here dominates the plastic, which is unfortunately kept in glossy and therefore is a fingerprint magnet. It creaks nothing and feels okay. For this price, you can take it.
Power:
Feels like everything is going very smoothly, even multitasking is working properly (surfing on the one hand, stream on the other side). To test the graphics performance I have the game Zombie HQ downloaded from the App Store. The graphics are nice and the game runs very smoothly.
Operating System:
It was important to me to get a full-fledged operating system, here it should be mentioned that no Windows RT is installed, but the real Windows 8.1. So you can install as usual programs etc.
Memory:
I have chosen deliberately for the 32GB version. After installing Office, Antivir and Firefox are now still about 12GB free. I use a NAS anyway home and therefore need little memory on the device. If in doubt, a Micro SD can be easily retrofitted (max. 64GB).
Battery performance:
The battery lasts for Office applications and surfing through about 10 hours. Charging takes about 6 hours.
Application:
I use the Tablet mainly for office applications and surfing. Excel & Word can be used easily and quickly.
Weaknesses / problems:
Unfortunately, the tablet has a downside. One is the non-functioning sleep mode. The tablet can be partially not turn conventionally remedied only pressing the Volume + button and the on / off switch. Through this combination, the tablet restarts. I suppose it is a software defect.
The second weakness is the hakelnde TouchPad. The mouse pointer appears temporarily freeze and moves only at 2-3 trial. Again, I suspect a software defect, because you can read a lot on the Internet about problems in combination with Windows 8.1 and mice.
I hope the review will help some in their purchasing decision. :-)
Update 1.0:
In the comments I have a very helpful tip received (thanks again!), Which fixes the mouse problem voerst.
Once you disable the gesture control (from the Mouse), the mouse no longer freezes.
A software update should therefore solve the problem entirely.
Again on the subject "himself will not turn back":
I have to sleep mode now disabled and the ASUS T100 Turns Off Frequently immediately.
So possibly suffers from the battery power, but the device does not need to be reset. Shorter battery life is not noticed me.
Keyboard dock and HDD upgrade:
Apparently another keyboard dock is included in the version with 500GB. I screwed my keyboard and it is available to possibly retrofit neither space nor the necessary SATA connector is a HDD / SSD. This FYI for play with this thought.
The USB 3.0 port provides enough power to the way a 2.5 "USB 3.0 hard drive to detect properly. I tested this with a Toshiba 1TB and an ICY BOX with a WD 750GB.
Update 2.0:
Transcend TS32GUSDHC10E
SanDisk Ultra Class 10 32GB & 64GB
Samsung microSDHC 8GB (from my old Samsung Galaxy)
All these cards have been detected directly. A Geschwindkeitstest I could not do so far unfortunately.
