Recording quality is absolutely excellent, but quirks and shortcomings ...

The recording quality, which is achieved through the built-in microphones is absolutely outstanding and second to none.
(Use the unit for over a year almost exclusively for piano & vocal recordings)
In this aspect, I'd give the Olympus LS-100 smooth ten stars.

Unfortunately, however, there are things I liked less the (previously owned a LS10, when I had nothing to complain about it until a few years broke), and also I seem to have possibly caught a Monday device.

From the beginning, the battery capacity was a joke (held only a few hours). Annoying: It goes without forewarning 2-3 minutes directly from - .Even if you are in the middle of a recording. I knew from my LS10 different ...

In addition, the operation reacts very cumbersome. Power on -> click ---> Record ... unfortunately not.
First you have to select the folder and then use the record button twice.
If the unit turns off and you it on again, "remembers" it is not, in what folder and file in which you were previously. (Even I knew from my LS10 otherwise ...)

Well, everything is not perfect, so you can live in the face of absolutely flawless recording quality.

But what is most bothers me for a few months that - change the unit repeatedly on its own settings - from me totally unknown reasons.
I usually use it like this: I turn one, choose a folder, press the "record".
Other settings I change not in principle (after I had initially set up the sensitivity of the microphone again)
Nevertheless, the unit will play my shots alternately in too fast or too slow tempo from (as evidenced not only by the change in speed but also by a crackling and noise, as if a recording is overridden)
It took a while until I found out that the problem persists "Reset Settings" by. (Then you have to come first).

Now my chagrin:
After I first had to reset the settings, some of it was different than before - uA told me recently of a voice on British English, what I am doing and what folder I am.
That was from the beginning not so, why is very clear to me that I caught a device that has already been used - and, I suspect, given the defects, was possibly dropped by the previous owner, etc. (Otherwise I can not explain the whole dropouts)

Now I'm on rag: The recording quality is looking really second to none - for that matter, I can imagine at the moment no alternative (already had studio microphones, which were not able to convince me anähernd so and therefore ended up on eBay ...)
But the device itself did not believe me because of the sluggishness and unreliability.

Am therefore undecided what to do ... It resell with honest description of the defect for a fraction of the price? Then buy a new device and hope that it does not have the defect? - Prefer to buy or something else ...?

Should anyone know an equivalent quality (of the recording quality) alternative, I'd appreciate tips.
