Relatively conventional book learning

I have to base bought this book because I think editions "for Dummies" are often very well made and can acquire a good foundation. I expected a little more unusual approach (as described in the intro of the book for that matter).

In reality this work relatively well, keeps a traditional approach to learning. A combination of mix, vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation ... in which we find the same tedious aspects that could be criticized for conventional approaches.

I am nevertheless satisfied because it allows me to have a more theoretical approach of Spanish and understand why and how we say things. I pair this book to another method that is completely based on hearing and repetition (more original approach, without study, which leads to speak a little Spanish from the first lesson). The mix of these two approaches is a cocktail that suits me well.
