I was almost from the beginning Prodigy fan and have every Maxi to Breathe. So therefore I know almost all B-side tracks. And yet, to buy this double CD makes sense. Why? The details of how she has so many apparently did not notice, I'll tell you:
CD1:
- "Charly" is the Alleycat version, not the original or the version on the first album. Was it on the Charly Maxi.
- "Spitfire" contains a few more samples here and there, is very much more rounded than the original on the album. Anyway, listen!
- "Everybody In The Place" is the Fairground Remix, also not the original. Was it also on the Maxi.
- "One Love" is an unpublished original - everything was so far has always been an Edit Version - This here is the complete and uncut version. That there has been nowhere!
The remainder of the first CD is known as already appeared on the previous albums.
CD2:
- "Voodoo People (Pendulum Remix)" is a slightly increased and rocking clubs variant. Highly recommended (there is a video to the way exclusively on the Prodigy DVDs, also worth to see it).
- "No Man Army" is jazzed up and slightly faster version that comes up without the sample "Taste the ... from my Crystal Fist". However, I do not know which version of which appeared once on a Maxi ("Smack My Bitch Up"?).
- "Voodoo Beats" may sound to the remix of Chemical Brothers, is completely entgitarrisiert - has almost nothing to do with Voodoo People and sounds very good. So also something completely new.
- "Your Love" is the same older version of the Charly Maxi.
Everything else is known. "Molotov Bitch" and "We Are The Ruffest" are taken directly from Maxis, the other tracks I do not know. Tearing me unfortunately not very from the stool. The live footage is rarely something to discover. Too Bad.
I miss above all three major tracks: "What Evil Lurks", "Baby's Got A Temper" and "We Eat Rhythms". But here probably seem distribution rights with pure play. First, the latter as well as some "demo" songs are unfortunately nowhere available for purchase. This "Greatest Hits" CDs would have been the best place for such a thing. But a handful of masterpieces only stay Bootleqs.
It is similar to the Chemical Brothers and their double CD: much you already know, some of it is just boring but some gems are already topsy. This double CD is somewhere worth the money. Check it out! Even with the first CD you bought two unreleased novelties.
For Prodigy newbies it is certainly a good grip. But not enough for an overall assessment. And finally you can from 2 CDs not rausholen the world - so I'll give instead of average 3 stars (that's enough) and excellent 5 stars (too much) satisfactory 4 stars, Weil's total but very well done is an Art Showcase :)
