Crysis 2 is a revelation. This sentence is not true 100%, but very accurate.
After disappointments like CoD Blackops and Homefront, finally a shooter that brings the AI opponents a little intelligence. Well this one time or another, there is the AI a little goofy at (especially in melee range), but by and large it works well. Because coverage is neat looking, the opponents (players) attempts to track down and encircle and thus sometimes even launched a surprise attack from ambush.
CONCLUSION: AI = good
Graphically you can not complain. Where other kleckerten stock response Crytek. This begins with the lighting effects and finishes with fine textures. From alleged excessive demands of the console or worse framerate I could not see anything.
CONCLUSION: Graphics = excellent
The sound is also great mixed. The sounds come along where you would expect it, in the NYer urban canyons, the reverberation heard extremely realistic and also the synchronization is not (as in most games) is a boring reading, but a real synchronization. One can thus even play in German without having to think you would walk around in a bad episode of GZSZ.
CONCLUSION: Sound = excellent
Physically also seems to be everything at the highest level. Trees fall after appropriate shelling, objects can be realistically hurled through the area and opponents fall as they should. Explosions have an impact on the environment. What was unfortunately (probably for technical reasons) not managed well in this game, is a completely realistic environment with destructible or completely interactive environment details. At the storage capacity of BD's in any case may not have been, since the entire game does not even need 7 GB on the disk.
CONCLUSIONS OVERALL: Shooter reference drivel or not. This game is on the technically best what the PS3 could show up now. There are games that look better, but none in the first person shooter genre. AI and physics were well implemented, although it certainly still one or other improvement opportunities.
It's fun, the story is well thought out and it's especially not easy. I would put the game on the subjective assessment of next KZ3 as me but better the scenario of Crysis like and the story of the concentration camp is somehow pointless my shooter of the year is definitely Crysis 2!
