The (flat) and egocentric humor of Jack Black have to like - otherwise the "idea" behind Tenacious D is not working.
Tenacious D is really (!) Very good, handmade skirt. Here one notices the influence of AC / DC, Van Halen, Metallica, Black Sabbath - Jack Black is a huge metal and rock fan, it shows the lovingly arranged pieces on.
Every song has several bridges and turns on, change the tempo, sometimes you can hear a song in 3 completely various styles.
As can come an orchestral intro, after 2 minutes go to the Country (Acoustics) and 1 minute later you saw hard metal riffs out of the chair.

Who 'PICK OF DESTINY "knows (and underestimated) will immediately find the humor.
Yes, Platt, something special - Jack Black also plays in the band "himself".
The skits are great, the songs "39", "Roadie", "The Ballad of Jack and Hollywood Rage Kage" and the title track are absolutely world class - and a lack of ideas or lack of love can be both God knows not accuse.
All songs by the way sits Dave Grohl on drums, which should be of some significance for one or the other Nirvana fan. Jack Black and Dave Grohl combines a good friendship.

I have all the "fans" recommend to the Limited Edition (DVD) to keep an eye out.
About a change in ship building in Lingen (Musikversand) there are the "uncensored" version (cover not glued), incl. 3 bonus tracks and a DVD.
