Mourning Sun (Audio CD)

Customer Review

As a longtime friend Fields I was, after so many disappointing attempts (by McCoy but also the other ex-members of FotN), really happy, a worthy successor to "The Nephilim" et. al. to hold in your hands.

Even without the help of an ex-Pink Floyd Producers here shows the true musical vocation of Carl McCoy. Dark songs, strong and mysticism, floating, simmering synths, rumbling and lugging guitars - the excellent fusion of Hard Rock, Goth elements and sophisticated concept album.

As to the best of times this is just not an album for the quick preview - you have to hear some songs only, but receives the guarantee that this disc is not boring after the third play.

Already the intro leads the listener into McCoy's very own world and worldview, and you will not let go until the last chord of the title track. Only the cover (bonus track) may be questionable - I personally think it is the weakest track a strong CD.

Who is more at the stage of Zoon-concoctions is here probably not happy, the "old" listeners but that a "Love under will" enthusiastically listened to were enchanted by "Last Exit for the Lost" or in "Wail of Sumer "have lost who will find it here.
