Dave Grohl has not stuck around after his (more or less) unwanted parting of Nirvana's head between his legs, but that right thing done: namely continue to write damn good music! After he became rather still smiled with his Combo Foo Fighters as Nirvana-imitation, he conjured up with the second album "The Colour and The Shape" a small masterpiece out of his sleeve. If one considers that Grohl in its grunge hours only sat behind the drums (a prejudice that keeps still stubbornly, because he has much contributed to Nirvana's success), you have to present it to this album as a genius. As he masters his guitar plus a partly soulful (Walking After You, February Stars, as well as powerful, penetrating voice (Wind Up Monkey Wrench) repeatedly used, is wonderful. From the first song, "Doll" to the brilliant song " New Way Home "is the album a real treat, it is therefore never boring and puts even after repeated listening full Überraschungen.Die songs flow seamlessly into each other and go perfectly from melodic to hard and back again.
