The exterior of the T3 is clearly defined functionality and outdoor suitability are in Vordergurnd - and that it works well, shows the experience of Olympus with the construction of this type of cameras. The controls are easily visible, tactile well detectable and also to operate when wearing gloves. If you have the battery door is closed again, do not you know that water will not penetrate here, probably even if the specified as maximum waterproof water depth is even exceeded.
Noteworthy is the appearance, the absolute sealed doing their duty here: a quadruple zoom and aperture 2 in wide angle - that's pleasantly light strongly in this segement. The improved image sensor with 16 (instead of as in the predecessor still 12) megapixels can actually also improvements in the image quality expected. But, it also is a pity, that's not really happening continuously. An Olympus problem in the smaller models that also has moved me in the past, before the return of a camera, is also noticeable here: an unpleasant noise and a lack of
Focus bother me sometimes already clear. Whatever the reason this is so: blurred, almost mushy acting surface details not regularly wear a real viewing experience with. In good lighting conditions and thanks to some selectable basic settings (eg quality fine instead of normal) you can luckily still optimize the image quality somewhat.
Overall, however, likely to all the benefits of using the camera in any weather condition and with the ability to adjust many special outdoor features (such as pressure gauge display and touch control) outweigh the bad picture quality by far. After all, is also a trend toward a glittering image that you can make in continuous rain and whipping, water dripping gusts at rest on the ground, still a thousand times better than having no image, because the four times more expensive luxury-class equipment "with such a weather" does not even with rausnimmt.
