The great thing about this recording is the excellent recording quality and the sophisticated presentation Jarrett! I have rarely experienced such a brilliant tone; you get the feeling, you're sitting next to the instrument! The soloist plays Bach neither mannered yet coolly intellectual, but clear, simple, yet intimately. A devout serve the music - as Bach would have wished for! Bach newcomers should not let the seemingly difficult, complex work scare - after repeated listening, the individual variations are becoming increasingly clear and "logical". And the magnificent art of the fugue can at every nook and cranny greet - great! Towards the end then there's even a "Surprise slot" a well-known (for children) Kanon, where Jarrett really cheerful in the keys "skin" and "Lets Go" also times really - just wonderful! Only the price is likely to put off (especially music students), but eventually one gets something for it. Highly recommended!
