Muramasa is a special game. It begins with the story. Depending on which character is chosen, the story changes dramatically. Kisuke is a swordsman with amnesia called a traitor. And in Momohime's body, the spirit of a swordsman who wants to appoint as demon king has taken root. Another special feature of the game is the graphics. This is held in 2-D and completely Hand drawn. The entire game looks like a moving painting. Some of the scenes are full of small details and see simply stunning from. However, unfortunately many level sections are recycled. Pity is that the game itself is quite monotonous. It is ran, jumped and fought without any significant change by the level sections. While there are various attack tactics and also some different enemy types, but mostly it is sufficient simply to hammer on the attack button. The two heroes are no different from each other. The game world is not freely accessible from the outset but is limited in some places of magical barriers. These can be broken only with special swords, behind which defeated bosses. The bosses are all drawn very nicely and staged, but with a few exceptions only slightly more challenging than the other fights. Another way to arrive at more Swords 'there are over 100' is forging. For forging the swords are firstly souls requires that leave either defeated opponents or are scattered in the level sections. Secondly enough mental power is needed, can be increased by food intake, for example. Unfortunately no own swords are forged. The properties of the swords are fixed, as well as the order in which they are released. Nevertheless, the collection packs a fever until the last sword was forged. And since the end sequences of the characters change, is worn depending on which sword has to collect an additional motivation all swords. Another motivation is that only after the first run through the white barriers can be broken. Behind these wait new challenges and also bosses the special items or swords ready. Conclusion: The game thus has its quirks. The fights are monotonous, the graphics are recycled, level sections must be repeated several times, etc. Nevertheless, took me for a long time no play so cast a spell. Collecting swords is motivating and the graphics are simply beautifully drawn. Together with the harmonious and beautiful soundtrack created a game in which I like to lose.
