Although the game has a story mode called, which, however, is nothing else than the party mode to two computers. This would certainly have earned only two or three stars and is only for activation of new characters.
As I said, this game is a multiplayer game and therefore the focus of this review will also be on the party mode.
This is already the ninth part of the Mario Party series, which has taken care of me since 1999 a lot of fun on various living room couches.
In my opinion, the series of part became part of becoming weaker, especially also because the basic concept (collect coins to buy stars for 20 of them and all four trains a minigame) has not really changed anything. This was tiring slowly and took his sad low point in my opinion, in the last part of the series: Mario Party 8 for the Wii.
For Mario Party 9, the developers have come up with a new concept ground up.
Whether it is better or worse than before, is certainly a matter of taste, but brings a fresh variety to the gameplay.
The most important changes are:
-All Players are now driving in a "vehicle" across the pitch and can no longer move individually
-Abwechselnd Dice the players for the number of steps
-The New cube going from 1-6 (as just a normal cube)
-There Are however also special cubes, each of which can have two
-Minispiele Come not all four rounds, but be specific fields (and by chance crates) triggered
-man collects nurnoch star, no more coins, this one gets through minigames or place it on the field
-It Does not win nurnoch the winner of the mini player star, but all (the first gets the most)
-There Are boss fights. There are all fighting together against an enemy boss, the better it is reflected, the more stars
-The Game does not end after a certain number of laps, but when you're in the "Target" (second boss fight)
After the end of a game you collect points which can be exchanged for rewards in the library. These include a new track and new vehicles, but also collectors items such as constellations.
In addition to the Party mode mini-games can also be selected and played.
Overall, my new Mario Party concept like it very much and I already numerous funny rounds behind me.
What is All thing noticed negative to me that the game is partly to luck dependent.
In my opinion the stars have on the field too much influence! Towards the end of a route are Heaps of 10 Stars "package" on the track. A winner of a game usually gets only 5 stars!
Say minigames no longer have the huge influence they should have. A 10 star pack revised just two games won. Also, the star difference between the winner and the loser by my too low.
The winner gets 5, the second 3, the third 2, and even the last one still gets a star.
There is also unhappiness fields, deduct an equal 3-10 star, what loss immediately negates two games won at 10 Stars.
Even worse, it may take one, if one the stars be halved. (I once fell from 62 to 31 stars, which brought me from the first to the last place, even though I had hitherto won all minigames)
A certain amount of luck is of course to Mario Party, this is the star in the game in my opinion, however, too high!
I would have liked it better if only 1-5 stars would be on the pitch, and the mini-game division would follow: winners 10 stars, 5 Second, Third 3, Last no stars.
At least one of adjusting the luck dependence or the number of stars on the field would have been erwünschenswert!
Seis drum: Mario Party 9 is a welcome change and a purchase worth a lot of fun!
