A classic romance

Welcome initiative to publish "Sylvie" apart, separated from the other "Fire Girls" (and of "Aurelia" and "Chimera") and accompanied only "songs and legends of Valois." It was an opportunity to realize a volume by a wide updated critical point on this "little romance" so essential in French literature, including J. Gracq wrote in 1966: "I know of no more enchanted story in our language" and returns to the front of the stage this season - especially as the study of Henri Bonnet (Hachette, "critical Pocket", 1975) is no longer available, nor that of P.-G. Castex (Sedes, 1970). It should be disillusioned: the short preface by Gérard Mace abounds in digressions, editorial Bertrand Marchal device shows discreet, and twenty pages of "Letter to A. Dumas" is not really necessary. Semi-missed opportunity so; remains - God thank you - to reread the text of Nerval.
