Come Away With Me (CD)

Customer Review

Norah Jones - daughter of Indian sitar player Ravi Shankar - released debut album in 2002. She even co-produced three tracks (tracks 2, 4 and 13). His voice is wheedling, deliciously drawling and slightly husky on for melodic phrases. She also plays the piano (Diana Krall) and was accompanied here by guitars, drums, electric piano, organ, accordion and strings - depending on the title. The compositions and interpretations reveal a synthesis of musical influences, halfway between jazz, folk, country and variety of high quality. The overall atmosphere of the CD is very "cool", almost mesmerizing, anyway really relaxed. In fact, almost all the disc is praise - say nine or ten pieces of 14 (we therefore will not name them all ...). Finally, note that, for this album, the young American artist convinces 20 million buyers to purchase her CD! That says it all ...
