At first I was disappointed by the technical implementation of very stale and downright shocked. Fuzzy textures, slurred and low-detail objects such as boxes, etc. are strongly reminiscent of bygone video seasons. But there is in the truest sense of the word bright spots when it comes to technology. Diffuse dark corridors incl. Flickering light sources including shadows cast look in very moody and atmospheric. The light from the flashlight will also own best advantage. I also had the impression that the campaign towards the center technically ne small shovel put on it. But maybe that was just some "load-gene" habituation factor ?!
If you have seen the movies, you will be able to more often times reminiscent of scenes, vehicles and other things. In part, this is really quite well done.
The acoustic implementation of noise is very good, the background music fits mostly and took me over long distances for the right "Alien Feeling". Unfortunately, the German Syncro is not exactly brilliant, sometimes even laugh. If you compare the console in English, after all, is the original setting better heard.
The gameplay can say the least, be described as classic or retro style. That one items, such as ammunition and health can only pick up by pressing the button, is in the long run a bit annoying I think. The playing time is good if you want to "take" the collectible bonus items all you can loose 8-10 hrs. Or longer gonna wind in the campaign.
Also, I personally am a fan of gloomy "Horror" and shooters like this oppressive atmosphere. This provides Colonial Marines, though not at the top level, but adequate for a current low-budget game.
I speak a clear warning from all friends and followers technically contemporary games. In 2013, this development is at least quite outdated visually. While there is little aha effects along the lines of: "Ok I sit degrees but not before the first X-Box", but take it not out at the end. If you like other hand engage in a journey through time to the last videogame decade, will be "pleased" about many small nasty aliens can ;-)
With reviews like: Worst Shooter for PS3, worst waste of all time ... and so I can not engage myself to happiness. I've played a lot of first-person shooter on PS3. There was in the past, particularly acoustic, atmospheric and even technically significantly weaker titles on the market (Haze, Turning Point, Battleship, etc.), which I then "passed on". This title, however, remains in spite of dam ... eidenen textures etc. in my collection.
