But my doubts were soon dispelled! Howard's score for King Kong has become fiercely celebrated well! While it might now and then give a few more themes and also a bit more variety would certainly not geschadet- However, given the limited time the Howard for the finish of the background music had but one can say with complete justification that he's work has made more than neat.
I certainly was then totally caught when I heard the score for the first time alone. You feel really at that time, the New York of years 30ger displaced or can see fighten Kong with Rex in the misanthropic, unreal environment of Skull Iceland before his mind's eye. The score has (almost) everything estimates the inclined film music fan: brute Action Parts, quiet emotional parts, and concise topics.
As I said, there is a lack jediglich a little at the change since Howard his subjects constantly repeated and they rarely reinterpreted / varies. But particularly the contiguous tracks on 5 finale is great and incredibly sad. Here then comes together again and as a listener you have again the scenes of the film in mind where Kong his desperate final battle on the Empire State Building discharges ... Very, very beautiful and at the same time sad part.
I certainly was flabbergasted. And since you would have would be smooth but the question how many more to become the soundtrack when Howard had more time. But on the other hand I am also interested Shore's interpretation to. (Which is so short to see at least in the movie :-))
Bottom line, you can only say: Super soundtrack! Is worthwhile in all cases.
