Outskirts Lights (Limited Premium Edition) (Audio CD)

Customer Review

The review refers to the Premium Edition.

Initially there was skepticism. Had a while you hear little of Clueso until then eventually said he was working on new stuff. Finally, the "release" came and although Clueso albums have always had a special place in my CD rack, I was careful with the otherwise almost compulsory reservation.
"Free Rotate" alone was missing in my view still something special, somehow it does not captivated. After release of the album the short audio samples gave ultimately decisive, but then to pick up the "outskirts Lights" home.

There are not many CDs, which from the outset so felt comfortable in my CD player. Clueso adopted from peer pressure and other constraints. He rotates freely and in the end there is an extremely round album.
19 songs that fit together, complement each other, hovering on the same wavelength. Each piece is engaged with the other and finish the CD, which does not need a Skip button. Still the largest award for an album.

Clueso has once more from the looseness that makes him strong in my opinion. He transported moments between melancholy and dreaminess, lyrically as always mature. Musically this is supported dreaminess of synths and guitars that are again arranged similarly soulful as in Cluesos best songs.

Maybe the songs have little hit potential, they are just rather quiet and withdrawn, but they sound very much like Clueso. Clueso at its best.
