Tangerine Dream exaggerate their abstractions of Pink Floyd Music 1975 on. Compared to their English counterparts, they proved far more in-depth knowledge of modern synthesizer technology. Thus, the CD starts as a first inextricable mesh of individual lines that slowly form into harmonic structures, on a quiet synth melody breathes. Gingerly the fabric dissolves into a conglomerate from Outer Space-sounds on an imaginary space of electronic sounds of nature. Then set synthesizer sequences that are initially countered with prancing melodies of distorted electric guitars, but then by incorporating Wechselrythmen and new sound textures to increase to a virtual African drum orchestra. Slightly less surprises there then to hear the second part. Nevertheless, "Rubycon" with respect to its tonal variety can be seen as a culmination of Tangerine Dream.
