Through the explorer Humboldt and the mathematician Gauss, Daniel Kehlmann offers us a journey through the world, history and science. An ambitious goal served by cross portraits that offer an interesting parallel. The summit, without being disrespectful, does not hesitate a dose of impertinence. The author looks with humor on the lives of two men from birth and highlights their extravagances and their ridiculous.
"The surveyors of the world" is a well-written novel. Often enlightening, it is sobering. Some passages are quite fun but I must admit that a higher number of passes and that annoyed me all me tired.
